Face Mask DIY

How to Make a Lemon Olive Oil Mask

Pamper your face with this whip-it-up-quick,

DIY facial recipe

While it's lovely to indulge in a fancy facial at a spa or buy a mask in the beauty aisle, making your own face mask using a few ingredients found in your pantry can be an affordable alternative to expensive treatments and products. This homemade lemon olive oil mask recipe will only take you a few minutes to whip up, cost you close to nothing and pamper and nourish your face. Let's chat about the benefits of the ingredients in this recipe:

In a nutshell, olive oil moisturizes skin and lemon lightens and brightens. Olive oil is chock full of Vitamins C, D and E, antioxidants and iron, all of which help your skin regenerate and retain moisture. When olive oil is combined with lemon juice, wrinkles and impurities such as blackheads diminish -- pretty sweet, huh? Add in oatmeal and it will help treat blotchy skin. And go one step further by adding egg whites to this mask and you'll get a tightening effect. Unsurprisingly, olive oil is best suited for dry skin, but this lemon olive oil face mask is great for normal, combination, oily and acne-prone skin due to the combination of ingredients. Here's how to make it:

Lemon Olive Oil Mask

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon olive oil
A few drops fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup cooked instant oatmeal (cooled)
1 egg white

Directions
Mix olive oil, lemon juice, oatmeal and egg white until smooth. Spread on your face and neck. Leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water. Follow with your favorite facial moisturizer
