Common Scents

“COMMON SCENTS” When Veronica is visiting Betty, who”s working at the mall, she spots a new ‘parfumerie’ shop (a sort where they sell perfume only). She walks in and nearly gets spritzed to death by the overzealous salesgirls. When nothing in the store seems to grab her, she decides to go make her own scent, with the help of Ginger, who’s done this before. Veronica makes a scent that drives everybody ecstatic, and that’s because of the secret scent-the scent of money. That’s right, she adds something that simulates the aroma of money. Everybody is drawn to it, but they can’t seem to put their finger on it (and Ron’s not telling). When she brings the scent to the manager of the parfumerie, he flips and wants to sell the scent, which they’ve now named ‘Veronica’. As people hoard into the store wondering about the special scent, one person shows up who can pick up the scent of money from 100 miles away-Crickett O’Dell. Crickett spoils the ‘secret’ and sort of takes the excitement away . Once the ‘secret’ is out, the ‘fashionistas’ seem to lose interest! Then Betty (who’s working at a snack shop in the mall) shows up. People in the mall want to know what the scent is that Betty’s wearing. She tells them the only thing on her is a mixture of cleaner and corn dog batter from the snack shop. Everybody starts to freak out over that scent, and wants to try to simulate that! Veronica realizes this whole perfume situation really STINKS!
