Sleeping Cute

Hey girls,

i just downloaded the pattern for the Madeleine Mini Bloomers below

These are no prim and proper Victorian bloomers, as you can see. They sit low on the waist, and are scandalously brief. The back view is particularly flattering. The waistband is sewn with two rows of elastic, and the legs are cinched with a length of ribbon. With just two pattern pieces, a beginner who is comfortable with elastic and buttonholes can make these.

The pattern is put together like any Burdastyle pattern. You just print out the sheets and tape them together to form the pattern. It’s multi-sized for XS to XL, which encompasses the usual sizes 0-18 in Colette Patterns’ range.

Laughing is so healthy

He who laughs last.....

Positive minute 42: He who laughs lasts!
Laughing is a wonderful gift to the human race and there are many benefits to a good burst of laughter.
Laughter is a wonderful gift to the human race and we are the only animals who laugh (I am sure you have never seen a giraffe giggle or a lion chortle).
Laughing is good for you
It releases endorphins to lift your mood and improve your wellbeing. In China they have laugh circles where all the people gather before a meeting and laugh for five minutes.
Norman Cousins cured himself from cancer by renting funny movies and laughing himself well.
I think we sometimes take life to seriously, we need to laugh at ourselves and at situations more
You will notice how quickly laughter breaks the ice or lightens up the situation. Laughter is also infectious: it multiplies when shared.
Leo Buscalia used to stop his students regularly in the corridor and ask them; “Are you happy?”, “Yes Sir,” would come the reply. “Are you sure?”, “Yes Sir,” “Well then inform your face.”
So show your joy, your love your celebration of this wonderful adventure called life on your face and share a little laughter today.

Respecting Other People’s Time

Respecting Other People’s Time

The other day I had an appointment to meet someone late in the afternoon. In order to meet them, I would have to cut short an outing with some friends. Traffic was heavy and, worried that I would be late, I alerted the other person to let them know that I was on the way. I needn’t have worried, as it turned out. She didn’t show up until well over an hour after the intended time (leaving me to cool my heels the entire time) and then professed ignorance over the fact that we were meeting at that time, even though she had responded to my message about being on my way. It was very irritating. I could have spent more time with my friends rather than rushing off. Also, I didn’t appreciate her lack of apology and felt she was trying to make me seem like the wrong one because I had stupidly turned up on time. It was very unprofessional.
Perhaps that’s why respecting other people’s time is such an important part of civility. You can pay someone back their money but you can never repay time, which is why nobody likes to have it wasted. It shows carelessness, selfishness, and a lack of respect… not exactly a great image boost, is it? Follow these tips to help you practice good time etiquette:
-Conduct transactions as efficiently as possible. Whether you’re at the bank, grocery store, gym, or post office, you should make an effort to get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. It drives me nuts when I’m waiting in an endless line at the grocery store and the person in front of me is chatting away distractedly on the cell phone while the cashier fights to get his attention, or decides to rifle through her purse because she doesn’t even have her money ready. Be friendly, be prepared, be focused, and be ready to move on.
-Stick to your meeting times. Was that conference call at noon, or one? You had better make sure. Also consider whether differing time zones might be a factor. I once set up a phone interview and the guy was an hour late—because he lived in a different time zone. Always give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination, ensuring that you have gasoline and clear directions beforehand. It’s better to get there a little early and have to sit in your car for a few minutes than show, realize there’s nowhere to park, and wind up 10 minutes late because you didn’t budget enough time.
-Inform people as soon as possible if you are running late. Oftentimes things happen that are beyond our control. Babysitters cancel, we get held up at work, traffic backs up… what can you do? Well, the least thing you should do is alert the person you are meeting as soon as you can. Give them the option to reschedule if that’s more convenient for them. And apologize sincerely. Even if it’s not your fault that it’s bumper-to-bumper, you should at least sound remorseful for the delay. After all, couldn’t you have left a bit earlier to avoid rush hour?
-Don’t waste people’s time. If you know you’re absolutely not interested in say, a job candidate or a salesperson pitching a service you don’t want, why schedule the meeting? If you’re on the fence, go ahead—you might change your mind. But I’ve heard enough tales of people showing up for interviews (having spent days preparing) only to be told the position has already been filled, or that they didn’t have the suitable skills—which a quick glance at their resume would have told HR. It’s so demoralizing, and a huge waste of time.

Nipple Covers

Most of a woman’s wardrobe would camouflage this physical display except for the thin knits and smooth fitting garments so often worn around Christmas time.

This is not a new technique. For years bandages have been used by models for runway fashion shows and photo shoots. Nipple covers are cute and much easier to remove!

Face Mask DIY

How to Make a Lemon Olive Oil Mask

Pamper your face with this whip-it-up-quick,

DIY facial recipe

While it's lovely to indulge in a fancy facial at a spa or buy a mask in the beauty aisle, making your own face mask using a few ingredients found in your pantry can be an affordable alternative to expensive treatments and products. This homemade lemon olive oil mask recipe will only take you a few minutes to whip up, cost you close to nothing and pamper and nourish your face. Let's chat about the benefits of the ingredients in this recipe:

In a nutshell, olive oil moisturizes skin and lemon lightens and brightens. Olive oil is chock full of Vitamins C, D and E, antioxidants and iron, all of which help your skin regenerate and retain moisture. When olive oil is combined with lemon juice, wrinkles and impurities such as blackheads diminish -- pretty sweet, huh? Add in oatmeal and it will help treat blotchy skin. And go one step further by adding egg whites to this mask and you'll get a tightening effect. Unsurprisingly, olive oil is best suited for dry skin, but this lemon olive oil face mask is great for normal, combination, oily and acne-prone skin due to the combination of ingredients. Here's how to make it:

Lemon Olive Oil Mask

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon olive oil
A few drops fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup cooked instant oatmeal (cooled)
1 egg white

Directions
Mix olive oil, lemon juice, oatmeal and egg white until smooth. Spread on your face and neck. Leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water. Follow with your favorite facial moisturizer

Something 4 your Xmas Stocking

Tinsel on your Christmas tree.
Sequins on your blouse.
Why not a little sparkle in your makeup?
This season, holiday makeup is all about two things: jewel tones and metallics.
New aqua blues, apple greens and rich purples line cosmetic store shelves next to silvers and golds. And glitter -- glitter is everywhere.

A Touch of Colour

Have your nipples faded over the years?
We all know the toll age takes on us, tired looking skin, wrinkles, age spots and faded nipples.
Well just like putting the blush back in your cheeks with a touch of rouge you can restore the pinkness of your long neglected nipples by adding a touch of colour.
Apparently "Pink Nipple" will leave them pink and fresh.

Common Scents

“COMMON SCENTS” When Veronica is visiting Betty, who”s working at the mall, she spots a new ‘parfumerie’ shop (a sort where they sell perfume only). She walks in and nearly gets spritzed to death by the overzealous salesgirls. When nothing in the store seems to grab her, she decides to go make her own scent, with the help of Ginger, who’s done this before. Veronica makes a scent that drives everybody ecstatic, and that’s because of the secret scent-the scent of money. That’s right, she adds something that simulates the aroma of money. Everybody is drawn to it, but they can’t seem to put their finger on it (and Ron’s not telling). When she brings the scent to the manager of the parfumerie, he flips and wants to sell the scent, which they’ve now named ‘Veronica’. As people hoard into the store wondering about the special scent, one person shows up who can pick up the scent of money from 100 miles away-Crickett O’Dell. Crickett spoils the ‘secret’ and sort of takes the excitement away . Once the ‘secret’ is out, the ‘fashionistas’ seem to lose interest! Then Betty (who’s working at a snack shop in the mall) shows up. People in the mall want to know what the scent is that Betty’s wearing. She tells them the only thing on her is a mixture of cleaner and corn dog batter from the snack shop. Everybody starts to freak out over that scent, and wants to try to simulate that! Veronica realizes this whole perfume situation really STINKS!

What the Fudge!

Christmas Fudge

Microwave Butter Toffee

Fill your Christmas candy tins or bowls with this golden, nutty toffee. Ingredients: 1-1/3 cups sugar
1 cup softened butter
2 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2/3 cups chopped walnuts
Directions: In a large microwave safe bowl, mix sugar, butter, water and corn syrup. Microwave on high for 4 minutes. Stirring every 2 minutes, heat 6 to 8 minutes longer or until thickened and gold in color. Add vanilla and stir well.
Pour mixture into 9x13-inch baking dish. Spread chocolate chips over hot toffee. Sprinkle with nuts. Cool completely. Break into pieces.

Two-Minute Microwave Fudge

This fudge will take a teeny bit longer than two minutes before it's ready to eat, but prep time is a snap! Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter
3-1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Directions: Place ingredients (except nuts) in bowl, but do not mix. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Beat with electric mixer until smooth. Fold in nuts. Pour mixture into a buttered 8-inch square baking dish. Refrigerate 15 to 20 minutes or until set.

Easy Microwave Peanut Butter Fudge

With only three ingredients and your microwave you can satisfy your (or anyone else's) craving for peanut butter fudge in just minutes. Ingredients: 12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
12 oz. peanut butter
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
Directions: In a 1-1/2 quart microwave-proof bowl, melt chocolate and peanut butter on high for 3 minutes. Stir well. Add milk and stir until well blended. Pour mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish lined with waxed paper. Refrigerate to chill. Makes approximately 42 pieces.

Microwave Hard Candy

Got a sweet tooth? No problem. Now you can make your favorite hard candy in minutes with the convenience of your microwave. Ingredients: 1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 tsp. flavoring*
Food coloring
Directions: Thoroughly mix sugar and light corn syrup in a glass bowl. Cover with plastic wrap. Microwave on high for 3 minutes and 15 seconds. Quickly stir the sugar mixture and then cover with a new sheet of plastic wrap. Microwave on high for 3 minutes and 15 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir.
After boiling has ceased, stir in coloring and flavoring. Quickly pour syrup onto a waxed paper covered cookie sheet or into nonstick sprayed molds.
Cool completely before breaking into pieces. Store in airtight container between sheets of waxed paper.
*Flavoring may include lemon, vanilla, cherry, almond, peppermint or other extract.

Microwave tips

  • When you try a new microwave recipe, jot down the results right on the recipe so that next time you will know the changes or adjustments you need to make.
  • For best results, use metal measuring cups for both liquid and dry measurements. The glass measuring cups normally used for liquid measurement allow too much variation in amounts, producing variations in results.
Note: All microwaves are not created equal. These recipes are designed to work in a standard household microwave with a power rating between 600 to 700 watts. Mini-microwaves and/or commercial microwaves are not recommended.
